Outdoor Learning

Time spent outdoors plays a key role in supporting children’s wellbeing and positive mental health. Through meaningful interactions with nature, pupils are encouraged to reflect, relax and build emotional resilience, benefiting from the calm and freedom that outdoor environments provide.

Children develop an understanding of the importance of protecting the environment. They are supported to consider their impact and make responsible, sustainable choices. Outdoor learning also promotes independence and perseverance, as pupils embrace challenge and develop confidence in unfamiliar situations.

Outdoor learning provides rich opportunities for children to learn beyond the classroom, developing confidence, resilience and a strong connection to the natural world. Set within our extensive and beautiful outdoor spaces, pupils engage with nature through exploration, investigation and hands-on experiences that inspire curiosity and enjoyment.

Through these experiences, we nurture a sense of belonging in the natural world and aim to foster a lifelong appreciation of nature, alongside the skills and awareness needed to care for it.
