  • Admissions Appeals Process

Admissions Appeals Process and Timetable - please note as WSCC co-ordinate both our Reception intake admissions and all in-year admissions on our behalf, the process and timetable for appeals will be set by them, Reception intake admission appeals will usually be arranged for late June/July each year, whilst those for in-year admissions will be dealt with as soon as practical. Further information on the appeals process is available at https://www.westsussex.gov.uk/education-children-and-families/schools-and-colleges/school-places/apply/make-an-admissions-appeal/#overview

In September 2023, we took a bulge class, which means that for September 2025, we have three classes and 90 children now in year 2. In September 2024, our Reception admissions reverted to 60, and will remain at 60 thereafter.

  • First Aid/Administration of Medicines

Children who need first aid can be treated in school for minor cuts and bruises. In the event of more serious injury, we will advise parents so that they can arrange the necessary treatment. If a child requires urgent treatment, we will contact the emergency services immediately and inform parents as soon as we can.

If your child is sick, we will contact you and ask you to collect them.

Children who have been sick, or have diarrhoea, should not return to school until 48 hours AFTER the last bout of illness.

In accordance with our management of medicines policy, the school will administer prescribed asthma inhalers, antihistamine and auto-injector pens once the appropriate consent has been completed.

In addition, in certain circumstances the school will administer non-prescription paracetamol and antihistamine, provided the appropriate consent has been completed. The school will also now administer antibiotics, when a dose is required in the middle of the school day.

The school also needs to be made aware of any other significant medical condition affecting your child, and should be updated if there are any changes.
